Hot because your getting 320gb Sata 3g/s 7200.10 plus CA Internet Security Suite for $65 AR. Luke warm because you gotta pay about $178 upfront compared to $90 at newegg and three rebate forms... But if you're all about math like me, you're getting 4gb per $1.

nevermind the initial investment is proposterous and who wants CA security?
I would rather pay $89 shipped for the drive at any one of the many times its been available at that price at newegg, etc.
EDIT: ps- sorry if that seems thread crappish, but the deal is crappish. But if anyone is willing to risk it- good luck

I'd have to agree. This is a little too scary. This one has been posted before, and I considered it, but no. I'll wait for a real price break, thanks.

Great deal if you want to take the chance, and they actually come through on all the rebates.

I have never had problems with rebates, so if you have the cash this is nice. But I have never used Tiger Direct either, so I don't know if they are bad with rebates or something...

The packaging is OEM according to the TD website.

The terms of the rebate state that you must:

"include the entire original proof of purchase insert from inside the packaging"

Since an OEM package is a bare drive, one can safely assume that this is just another rebate scam designed to make people bitter.

Tiger uses its own rebate processing center (Onrebate) for lots of these. Then they charge you a fee for "fast processing" (which is actually fast, you get rebate - fee in like under 2 weeks when they get your paperwork.) If you don't pay the ('extortion' )fee, then it takes full 16 weeks.

I got the same deal a month ago when the drive was $99 + shipping and there were two rebates at $20 a piece. The CA Suite Rebate has been been approved, but haven't heard anything at all since I sent in my Tiger Direct Rebate. I may have to get on their backs about it. Oh well, $86 still isn't a bad price.

I jumped on this deal a month ago. Two weeks ago, I got an e-mail from onrebate.com that both my rebates were processes and checks will be mailed in a month. Dunno nothing about $20. But to me the deal is pretty good.
