Some of the 7002.7 series has NCQ (if its specified), all 7002.8 have NCQ. (as long as they are SATA)

You wouldn't miss it. The .7 series is still a kick butt product, and the benefits of NCQ are minimal. Do most controllers support it?

Thanks. For the 7200.7 where is it specified? Is it on the drive itself?

And how do I differentiate between 7200.7 and 7200.8 drives if all that is mentioned about the drive is the make (Seagate obviously), size in GB, RPM, interface and cache size.

Also.. now that I'm wondering about these things, does the NF3 SATA controller actually support NCQ? ;)

NF4 and i915 and later chipsets. support NCQ. If you go to newegg they say in the specs if it has NCQ.

Well I guess I won't look too much into NCQ then.. Seems like the difference is not that big at all, and the chipset I'm getting doesn't support it ;)
