i've noticed that most of the Seagate drives are oem. how would you format them with out software? would you use xp to format?

:thumbsup: better to check if your drive is fvcked before you waste your time putting windows on it any all the drivers etc. to have it crash later on.
 
you can format a drive in windows without the windows disc. you can also download their seagate's software for free i think?

Great advice. I wish that I had checked out my drive before wasting time trying to format it.
