A while ago I purchased Seagate freeagent go flex drive 2.0 and it work fine. However, I upgraded my computer to 3.0 and thus I purcahsed the 3.0 adapter for it. This is the link.

http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FreeAg...pr_product_top

However, when I try to connect it to my 3.0 panel, it refuse to load. When I pulg in to my 2.0 usb it load the hard drive just fine. Just before anyone ask, I am certain that my usb 3.0 panel work... I have a usb 3.0 WD drive as well and it run fine. Any suggestion before I mail it back to amazon?

By refusing to load do you mean that it does not even do the hardware detect?
or does it detect but does not show the drive?
in device manager is there any unknown devices?
is the usb 3 port a chipset based one or 3rd part(like asmedia?)

What version of windows as well?

just trying to get an idea of the setup

In my experience, USB 3.0 is flaky at best. I just plugged an external USB drive into a USB 3.0 port (built into the MB) and absolutely nothing happened, the HD was not detected. I plug same HD into an adjoining USB 2.0 port and all is normal. Yet yesterday this same drive worked perfectly plugged into this same USB 3.0 port. This has been my experience with USB 3.0, it only works when it feels like it,

Well, in my case, the 3.0 hdd adapter can be dected in usb 2.0 but it doesn't show up at all in usb 3.0. It is a chipset 3.0 driver. Window 7 64 bit

i have seagate goflex 1TB external with dock. From last one week, DOCK is not booting properly. LAN port lights blink. Harddisk rotates, but the lights in front are not coming up at all. I have connected the HD to PC and it is working fine and data is showing.

How can i make DOCK work? Any guidance will help.

So have you owned this for months or a few years?

Have you plugged and unplugged the drive from the dock?

It may be simple wear and tear on the hdd to dock connection.

Some kind of lose connection? I have had that problem. USB3 is not as reliable as USB2 in detection and takes longer.. Remember there are more than twice the number of connectors in that USB plug so they are more problematic..

Also seagate USB adapters wont show the drive if its formatted connected to the sata port for drives larger than 2TB.
