Seagate Barracude 7200.7

I really need a new HDD and i wanted to move to SATA. However i have heard that the SATA version is louder than the PATA version. Can anyone attest to this. Also will the difference be noticable.

I have found the PATA version (120gb) for 49.99 and the SATA for 89.99. I really wanted to make the switch to SATA but that is a good deal for the PATA.

Basically im saying Help!!

$50 for 120 is a steal (.42c/GB)

On the otherhand, $90 for 120 SATA is also a good deal (.75c/GB)

That said, these drive seem to be the exact drive with an internal converter for SATA. Meaning the performance will be about the same.

If you want this drive, get the PATA
If you want to convert to SATA, get a different drive. IMO, the 120GB Samsung SP1213C for $100 is great. I burst at 140MB/s, almost maxing out the sata bus. My raptor doesnt even come close (aside from the seek)
