Hello, I'm new here and I will like some help.

I got a Hard drive from a friends PC, i believe it was an acer ?
forgot the model.

Anyways I have a dell xps 400 that I bought a couple months back from a computer store close to where i live and it only has 30 gbytes of storage.

The seagate however has 160 and I would love to replace mine.

the thing is i dont know how, especially when I noticed the cables on my 30 gig has I'm guessin sata cables and this 160 gig i wanna install has ultra ata cinnection..

eh, Would like to know if anyone can assist me with the installation, i would appreciate it.

Im pretty skilled with computers, not a noob but i havent really got into deep with like the hdd replacing or fixing would like some tips and help.

Much appreciated thanks. :D

If the cables are different, i'm guessing the driver for each connector is different.. you probably might not be able to "clone" the drive from your 30gb into the 160gb directly and have windows still boot. let me go look at the dell specs and see what i can find

thanks for replying quickly. I wanted to see if there is anyways i can install it by buying the right cables or something, or for someone to show me what I CAN do to make it work. its an old computer but i really THAT old since it works really good.

These are the specs i have if its any different from the original purchase.

Microsoft Windows Xp Pro SP3

Intel(R) Pentium(r) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
1.00 GB of Ram

also got a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500 ,but for some reason it keeps giving me the BSOD everytime i try to install the driver for the card.
