Seagate Barracuda 4

I can't see the Baracuda IV advertised for sale anywhere, not even on Seagates website... Where do you get em and how much are they?

I suppose we wont get them for months here (Australia) because we tend to be the dumping ground for all the leftovers (cars and computers)
 
Hmm.. I actually used the search function🙂 hoping to find out when this drive is out. Only 24 dBA during seeks!! That's unbelievable.

So does anybody have any more info on when it'll be up for sale? I wouldn't mind paying a slight premium for this since the hard drive is the only component that makes any bit of noise in my new, quiet system.
 
Yer apparently the 4s are using this fluid ball bearing system (or something in that nature) to quiet it down. I believe it's a similar technology used in the Fujitsu drives a while back that made them so quiet.
 
Except that Seagate paired the Fluid Bearings with a 40GB platter and it spins at 7200RPM. I can't wait to get this drive...
