Believe this is the lowest I have seen a 2TB drive.

A few days ago, 2TB 7,200 rpm Hitachi's were $184.99 - 3% bing - $25 rebate = $154.46 @ ZZF.

Not a bad price for the Seagate although I guess I'm afraid of them right now. I probably shouldn't be. I hate not having Frys nearby! :(

I dont trust hitachi after they wouldn't warranty 3 of my drives. The whole IBM deathstar drive issue. Bad experience for me. I did just have a Seagate 200 die on me just within warranty and they shipped me a 250 as a replacement. Small by todays standards but since it was a tivo drive im happy.

The IBM Deskstar was a very long time ago, but I understand how you feel. I feel that way towards certain products. At this point, WD seems to have the best drives out there but every year or so, it rotates. Just a year or two ago, Seagates were the top.

Just picked up one of those 79 dollar drives at frys B&m and it was a samsung eco drive 32M cache HD154ui model with 3 year warranty. Picked up a few to add to the server.

Im moving some media around on the server to pull some 500s out and these seems very zippy. I wonder how much slower they are than say caviar blacks? These are so damn cheap I may go back for some...

5900 RPM? Wow, just found out that these things exist too. Probably as a jab at WD 5400 green line. :)

Mine stated 3 year warranty on wrap and on body of the drive itself.
