Seagate 7200.8 NCQ (400GB) drive failures?

Ive recently read on this forum that this drive has been plagued with failure problems and/or potential defects (read about a recall)

How true are these statements and is there a problem with this drive? [model ST3400832AS]

thanks if anyone has info

I dont think I ever seen a recall with hdds before. People probably made up stories.. if you can't find it on google, its most likely not true.

I know wdc had a "recall" but it was due to the bad IBM controller chip.. like how apple/dell has bad sony batteries

If you're worry about a 7200.8 model, you might as well buy a 7200.10 model

found nothing on google

i was originally getting the 10 model but the seller on ebay reversed everything. its much cheaper on ebay so looks like the 8 model is my best bet, and theres one 9 model i could go for as well.

retails the devil
