Thanks original poster. Black Friday sales are fast approaching but will there be a new $25 rebate after Sep 30?

$84.99AR + no tax + no hassle = good deal since I don't mind the PATA.

I've got a raid card that I'm using so I can have a multi boot system with XP as well as 9x/Me. The card allows large drives to be used, otherwise anything over 137GB connected directly to the mobo would get corrupted under 9x/Me.

I'm not sure if the onboard SATA connector would allow large drives to be used under 9x/Me without corruption, anyone know?

Ordered listed as 'Order Fulfilled' & tracking # given so they were shipped to customers (using DHL).

Well I ordered this, but now I'm starting to regret it.

Isn't the 7200.7 the model with all the failure problems?

What problems? I think there is no guarantee which 400GB version you'll actually get.

Do you tell the versions apart on the box or on the drive label?

I use Seagate drives almost exclusively,
and am currently waiting delivery of this one.
I have read a few posts here and there which
mention issues with a seagate drive?
anyone want to explain which model and what the problem is?
Thanks!

Stressing the power supply for nothing? Unless you have a monster power supply, it's better to have one big one then few smaller ones.

7200.10 arrived here too, but where's the manufacture date though?

What a heck is a Date Code 07033? Is that the code for manufacture date?

Also, the hard drive says ST3400620A-RK
not the advertized older ST3400632A-RK

Does ST3400620A-RK qualify for the $25 rebate?

I begin to think I might get a bad one. My computer start to pause a bit when open a new window. (I cloned 120 GB onto this one.) Is this normal? I assume after a bit of indexing, everything should be fine. Oh, this thing is hot, my fingers! Can't imagine how hot 750G can be.

Following up on c627627's comment on drive model and several earlier ones about getting the 7200.10 build, the label on the box for my drive (which arrived only two days after I ordered it) shows the drive model to be ST3400632A-RK but the drive itself is marked model ST3400620A-RK and build 7200.10.

Thanks to Mattd46612 for posting this "hot deal".

This is correct. The UPC label which is what Seagate is getting with the rebate form does say ST3400632A-RK so it's just a bonus to get the 7200.10 and use it.
