Does anyone have a copy of the pdf for the $35 rebate? Outpost's link isn't working, and I'm not confident when buying things with rebates that I'm not sure exist.

Nevermind, I realized you have to add a "1" to the end of the filename for the first rebate.

Anybody have a model # for this? I hope it has 8MB of Cache at least.

Edit - I notice on the rebate form it's just 2MB Cache. I guess it's still a good deal for free AMIR, or really whatever you paid for shipping.

Someone on FW noticed this on the $10 rebate for the 16 MB cache version of the Seagate:

Retail Kit Model Number
Seagate 300-GB ATA-16MB
UPC Number
7_63649_00192_9
Rebate
$50

So maybe two $50 rebates? :D

If so, I'll be a very happy man in 8-10 weeks ($0.14/GB after shipping would be an insane deal for a large capacity drive; as it is, I'm happy with $0.26/GB after shipping...only thing that could sweeten the deal would be for it to magically change into a SATA drive). ;)

Of course, Seagate has had some quality control issues lately...

I think you'll be very lucky if you get $50. Just checked seagate's rebate site and the promo code shows $10 rebate AND it says it's only good for the 8mb drive...

Too bad this isn't SATA. I'd jump all over it.

I was at the Sacramento Fry's and picked up the 300gb drive for the same price this afternoon. They had a TON of them, but they were on a pallet near the check out area.

Had the 80GB ordered, with next day shipping (since it was like $5 more than ground), and purchased it when it said it was in-stock, but I received an e-mail saying my order was canceled, I guess due to lack of stock. Bummer.

80G cancelled without notice, but they sent a $10 filler item with the full unadjusted $9 shipping charge, 6 hours after I cancelled the balance of the order through the customer service link on their web site. Turkeys!
