I have a Seagate 2TB ST2000DM001 and Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD in a Gigabyte AMD 760G motherboard running in AHCI. The hard drives are SATA 6.0gbps while the motherboard is only SATA 3.0gbps interface. On POST, the AHCI ROM display indicates both drives running only at SATA 1.5gbps. But when I hook up an older Samsung 1TB HD103SJ, the AHCI ROM shows it is running at SATA 3.0gbps.
I'm trying to figure out if I have to update my AHCI ROM with a modded BIOS to get proper support of SATA 3.0gbps for the Seagate and Kingston drives. It seems to happen only with SATA 6.0gpbs drive, while SATA 3.0gbps drives run fine at 3.0gbps.
Is there a way to check what the actual interface connection is in Windows? (i.e. if it's just a display issue in the AHCI ROM POST display). I ran CrystalDiskInfo, but it only shows the drive's max interface (SATA 6.0gbps)
