Seagate 1TB Platter HD -- When ?

Hey,

I am avoiding the purchase of my new HDD for the past 1-2months now, as i was hoping seagate will release 1TB platter drives in the market soon.

So, any news when i can actually get hold onto one?
I am looking for internal 2TB HDD.

PS: Have to do something soon as my current HD is having 16 bad sectors, but running fine for now but i cant write any data, if i do B.Sector increases.. 🙁
 
This site is excellent for platter density and head info
It lists the model numbers for the 1TB platter drives, finding them is a whole nother matter
I wouldn't be surprised if it took another few months

They havn't been in a hurry to push out 1TB/platter
I waited for months myself, then ultimately purchased 500GB/platter drives some 8 months ago

Hopefully your data is backed up ...
bad sectors already is not something that should be ignored
