throw in a $25 off $100 coupon you can buy on ebay for ~$2 and you have a really nice deal. My only issue is that usb 2.0 is just too slow for system backup.

I don't think thats going to work. There is already a $26 coupon applied (automatically) to lower the price online from $125 to $99.

I used a similar coupon about two weeks ago when this was on sale before without any problems. Was able to use two additional coupons (one was for used ink cartridge returns).

This drive is perfectly fine for system backups, music storage, etc. where blazing speed is not a critical requirment.

The coupon did work. I purchased one off ebay for $1.54, added the external drive and a dozen pencils to my cart (had to get over $100), and the coupon worked.

You might be thinking of the 1.5 TB w/ the bad firmware??

Mine has worked fine for several months...

I purchased a notebook HDD and had to add a $0.99 eraser to get it over $100. They shipped the HDD in a plastic bag- unpadded and the single eraser in a box with packing material. 😕

Well in Staples' case, the only deal in retail packaged drives so it should have been in a properly designed box that could survive handling.
