Fry's charges tax on shipping? Does everyone do that and I've just missed it somehow, or are they being screwy? That seems a bit odd.

I'm going thru hell getting mine. So far I'm out $80 of a total $120. Never again will I do seagate rebates, even if these eventually get resolved.

Seagate @ buy.com

buy.com is/was also running a generic $10 off promo. I wish I had saved my coupon/link. I just bought this drive from outpost.

Took over 4 months to get my "please allow 8 weeks" rebate from Seagate.

Seagate @ buy.com

Price is now $99.48 on Buy.com. Also, is it clear this is the same unit? The rebate form says that only the ST3160023A-RK (retail kit) qualifies for the rebate. Buy.com's might be the OEM version.

I finally got mine about a week ago. I sent in the rebate in Novemeber, so fairly long turn around time. Plus their rebate status system blows. On the website mine never showed up. And after mine was validated the phone wasn't updated.

I'll bet that Seagate forwards all the rebate paperwork to India 10,000 at a time for processing.

Just my 2c. Oupost has been running the same rebate sale on and off for 6 months with first 80g then 120 then 160 and 200g hard drives. I have bought 6 or them.

I have had no problems with the rebates. Slow, but all have arrived except for the last on I bought 3 weeks ago.

The are also the 5 year warranty retail drives. Buy.com is oem drives. Do not know the length of the warranty on those.

The drives all have worked fine.

Does anyone have a link for the reabte form? I got my drive, but rebate info is no longer on original link.

You need to enable your profiles or send me an E-MAIL so I can reply with the file. I don't know your E-MAIL address.
