Sea Dogs

I've been in the mood for a good pirate game recently, and I remembered how excited I was way back when Sea Dogs was released, and then my disappointment that my old system couldn't handle it. I forgot about it for a while, and it was the first thing I thought of now that I'm looking for a pirate game. But stores don't carry it anymore, and it's going for $50-$60 on ebay. Is it worth it? Should I just go with Sid Meier's Pirates? Any other suggestions would be good too.

I really enjoyed Port Royale 2. I haven't played any other pirate games though.

PR2 is basically a Pirates Gold! remake.

How about the new pirate MMO Pirates of the Burning Sea? You might want to read old reviews on Sea Dogs to decide. I've got a copy around here somewhere, but haven't played it yet.

I'm not really into MMO's, I have a bad internet connection and don't like the monthly fees. I usually just play single player.

A good pirate game? What's wrong with one of the Monkey Island games? I mean c'mon, they've got Stan's Previously Owned Coffins Emporium. Hmmmm.... that sounds like a good idea.

/me runs off to dig up his Monkey Madness CD.
