SE Michiganders - bracing for the snow?

I'm going to my sister's house today because she's getting Comcast High Speed Cable Internet installed and it's my responsibility to hook her up with a wireless network. So I got a Linksys wireless router and a Netgear MA401 wireless card - it should be sweet!

Anyway, it's supposed to snow between 4 and 8 inches (up to twelve north of Detroit!!) in SE MI tonight, so I'm thinking about just sleeping over there. What do you think? Making any special plans tonight for the snow?

I'm ready.

I just hope it's over and done with by late tonight.

That would give Metro time to catch up so that my flight can leave without incident tomorrow night.

Actually, global warming just means more extreme seasons...so if it continues we will have no fall and spring, just hot and cold.

I was hoping it would snow...so my high school would have a snow day, but now we have mid-winter break, so I'd rather be able to go places now. Snow is not unwelcome, but the timing coulda been better. I loved the nice weather we'd been having for the past two days. :)

Honestly, we haven't seen heavy snow in the Detroit area since 1998. And it was a good number of years prior to that since our last really good snowfall. I shoveled my driveway only twice last year, and only twice so far this year. It wasn't this way when I was a kid. It seemed like we got buried every year back then in the 70's.

I've got to the point now where I hate snow. Spring break is in a week and we're getting supposedly a gigantic snow storm.

I hate snow.

Is this a theory or a fact?

4-8 is toned down from what i was hearing yesterday (which was 10 inches with that "severe weather warning") but i don't think it'll be a big deal... we michiganders are usually prepared for something like that
