PC100 is SDRAM

SDRAM comes in 3 different flavors
PC66 - cheap stuff for celerons
PC100 - for non-overclocking BXBoards
PC133 - for 133 MHz bus boards or people who want to overclock

Recently, someone mentioned PC150, but I havent seen it for sale
If you want some performance headroom, go for the PC133. Its good value for the money

Avoid RAMBUS at all costs!

Buy PC-133 CAS 2 RAM. That's an overclocking motherboard so you may as well get get RAM for overclocking.

In the very least get RAM that will do Cas 2 at 100 and Cas 3 at 133. There is a lot of crap PC-100 RAM out there that will do only CAS 3 at 100. (If you haven't already guessed, Cas 3 runs quite a bit slower than Cas 2 at the same MHz.)

The extra few bux you pay for the RAM is worth it.

i was under the impression that setting your ram to cas3 over cas2 made next to no difference, has this changed?

Of course it's faster at CAS 2 - less latency is better !!!

I've seen tests that show it gives a boost on benchmarks equivalent to maybe 15-20 MHz.

Help the guy out! Here ya go, get either Mushkin or Crucial PC133 CAS2 memory.

Only get this from Crucial:

Don't have time to bother with the Mushkin link. If you decide mushkin, get some more help. They have many versions of memory.
