Sdram or DDR system?

Should I build a ddr system with a DDr board like IWILL KA266($136shipped) or a sdram system with IWILL KK266($119). I could get either 256 mb of DDR or SDRAM, both types of ram can be gotten around the same price.

So is the ddr IWILL KA266 a stable board? Are there any major or minor problems going ddr?

Should I spend $17 for a ddr system.

Help me on this.

DDR is the way to go right now because a major hardware change like that can really open your doors to upgrading later on.

actually....on 2nd thought. Don't!

Don't get the Ali MagiK DDR chipset. It's not much better, and sometimes even worse than KT133A. if you want DDR, grab AMD761 chipset, or the KT266 stuff.

You also might want to wait a little more for that "killer" SIS DDR chipset. :)

i doubt better chipsets will be available anytime soon...
but faster processors will definatly be better able to take advantage of what DDR has to offer...

YEah I'm waiting for DDR platforms to mature, therefore, in the meantime I bought a KT133 board

Go DDR, the Iwill KA266 board is very good as is the Asus or Soyo versions. Unless you are a hardcore FPS gamer the ALI boards offer excellent stability and very good performance for the price. The Soyo can be had for around $120 now and go with Crucial PC2100. If you are changing platforms now going with DDR will allow you to upgrade in the near future to better chipset solutions.
