That site has been beaten to death on Dpreview, and not given much credibility. For instance, the writer makes statements like
"The SD14's consistent resolving power give photos a more 3D appearance"
BS. '3D' is a cliche' term used by every other brand protagonist when it comes to X vs Y brand. I've seen good work with the SD14, but an order of magnitude better work with the 5D.
The guy also spends a lot of time (with really bad examples) trying to prove that theSD14 can keep up with a 5D when upscaled, but then at the bottom of the review with the red rose can't make up his mind and admits the Foveon sensor has to murder green and blue to make red happy. For the last time, the Foveon *is not* a full, single site RGB sensor, and this is what he's seeing.
My favorite part is when he tries to conclude the SD14 has less noise. Not even the most partisian Canon hating Sigma users will admit that one.
To be honest, I hate Bayer sensors and the resulting softness required by AA filters and other processing which results in mandatory USM with every Bayer based camera I've used. About the only good thing to come from the megapixel wars is that it reduces the fuzzy impact of Bayer sensors and corresponding filters to fix it's limitations.
I also admit the Foveon sensor does make a legit attempt to get arou8nd the problem, and does certain things very well.
However, the drawbacks with the SD14 are far less correctable than the 5D, and I would easily rather own a Rebel 450 than the Sigma. A true, 10mp Foveon sensor with Canon or Nikon processing would be a powerfull machine.
