SD1100 or SD550?

IS, new warranty, new battery, and, as i said in the other thread, i think it produces a slightly better image. SD1100 gets the edge.

But, it has a smaller sensor - more noise right? Or have they somehow over come this with new and better technology?

new and better technology appears to have overcome the smaller sensor. a 1/2.5" sensor is only about a stop less sensitive than an equivalent tech 1/1.8" sensor. and the SD550 is old. look at the pictures that each one has on dpreview.
 
i believe the SD1100 is $200 this week at one of the office supply stores, max or depot. dunno which. as if i can ever tell the difference.
