Yes for the most part.

Some SD readers and laptop ones will not read MMC though, so you have to CHECK to see if it will take it.

My MMC would not work in my friends Toshiba laptop reader. My SD worked in it.

Remember SD cards are a little thicker then MMC, from what I can find about .7mm.

the majority of SD readers / devices will read MMC

but

many MMC readers / devices will NOT read SD.

if i can remember, SD has an extra pint from MMC for data verification and secure it.

Anyone know if the Toshiba e335 will read MMCs? It has an SD slot, but I just got an MMC card in the mail.

it should. no harm done if it doesn't work. you'll prolly get an error if it doesn't.

Just tried it, no errors, but I don't think it can read the card .

SD is just MMC with encryption IIRC. Hence the "Secure" part.
