SD memory card not reporting correct free space

I just bought an axiom x30 with a 1 gig SD card about a week ago. I've been adding and deleting files to the SD memory card but the card seems to be reporting free and used memory incorrectly. In file explorer on my pc the card says it has about 500mb of files on it, but when I right click and go to properties it says it has about 950mb "used". When I try to add more files it tells me there's not enough room.

Can anyone explain why it's doing this and how to correct it?
