SD Card Vs USB Stick

I am just thinking of using SD Cards instead of USB sticks as I just keep on loosing or having somebody borrowing and never returning back to me.

I was just wondering what are the prons and cons of using a SD card over usb sticks? All I really want to do is store documents etc on them.

How will the SD card provide any less chance of loss? They are even smaller than "USB s sticks." Seems like a change of habits might be needed.

I understand what you say but for myself its better organisation in a way if i can put so many in a tub together then it would be easier for me. Less likely someone will come in my room and take it to use themselves. Additionally, its a personal preference.

Lots of little pros or cons and in the end it all makes them about the same. Even the price is about the same. If you want the best of both. uSD cards with SD adapter can be had on killer sale for about $1 a GIG. uSD USB adapters that are about the size of a nickel can be bought for about $3-$5 on ebay. The adapter is cheap and will reduce the write performance, but it give you both when you need it.

If it's your personal preference, then why question pros & cons?
Do you want us to try and talk you out of using SD cards in place of USB sticks?

USB sticks have the potential to be faster at the moment, especially over microSD and if large size is acceptable. However, microSD obviously have application beyond just USB ports and as said the adapter itself can be chosen for the application -indeed, not just USB adapters but all kinds of other flash cards.
