SD card speeds

the whole class 2,4,6 is based of minimum write speeds correct?

class = 2mb and so fourth. I just randomly did a mini test on my computer and USB 2.0 transfers. and found my kingston USD flash drive to put out 4mb. but its not rated.

4gb sandisk class 2 got 7-8mb/s
8gb sandisk class 4 got 12-14mb/s

this leads me to believe that maybe sandisk is underrating their microSD cards... you guys think all other vendors like this? If this is the case then i dont really a point in getting a class 6 for my phone. since my class 4 is least a class 10 speeds. Or are their other factors that come into play? I was going to with a unknown name like "topram" or "a-data" for my 16gb microSD class 6 but i now fear i will not see a speed diffence since my sandisk is performing so high above its standard of 4mb/s

i just put a .avi file from my computer on directed to the mircoSD via usb adapter on a USB 2.0 system.

when a remap occurs you have slowdowns. so you are going to have remaps due to the cheap nand they use so they try to optimize a guaranteed minimum rate for the life of the device.

and then there are counterfeits/grey/B stock..

check out the wikipedia for more info.
