I'm trying to find a quieter/cooler solution for an external SATA enclosure, and all the standard products seem to suck.
I'm thinking about trying to run a "Quiet Drive" box as a SATA external enclosure.
One option is to hook it up to a Scythe "Kama Connect" , but I've read in some reviews that the Kama can't do IO faster than 30 MB/s which is lame.
Another option I considered is to just hook it up straight - plug the SATA cable from the Quiet Drive straight into my laptop's eSATA port and buy a separate AC-to-molex power box to power the drive.
Am I nuts?
