Scythe Ninja Socket 775 Installation

I just can't get my scythe ninja clips to attach to the mounting bracket for a Socket 775. Anyone else have this problem? Did it require more than normal force, or did you not screw the bracket flat against the motherboard washers? Thanks for your help.
