Scythe Ninja or Tuniq Tower?

I'm getting an E6600 this month and am looking for the best air cooler. It's my understanding that the Scythe Ninja and the Tuniq Tower are the best available now? Unfortunately the Tuniq isn't at Newegg and the Ninja just went off sale (it was like $30, now it's $50).

I'm willing to pay $50 for the sink but still looking for the best bang:buck here. I hope to get my E6600 to 3.5ghz or higher :p

Well, you can forget the Tuniq T-120 -- it requires LOTS of air, and it WILL be noisy, guaranteed! If you 'turn down the air' to a tolerable noise level, it won't perform worth beans, so...

Between those two, for quietness, the Ninja wins hands down -- but Ninjas are butt fugly, IMHO.

If it was me, I'd go with a Scythe Mine 3. It's looks (almost) as good as a Tuniq Tower, performs just as well as a Ninja, and it's SUPER quiet... I read a review where the author thought the fan was dead -- had to get a flashlight and look into the fins, to make sure it was spinning! ;)

Heh! Alright then! That's a different ball game! :)

Gettin' a Connie... Willing to pay 50 bones for a HSF... Best bang for the buck...

That would be the Scythe Infinity. It's brand new -- just came out last week, so the jury is still out -- but, I have a *feeling* this is going to be the one to beat for the E6600.

I say this because the Tuniq Tower is out of production, as 'we' speak...

I already have a Scythe Infinity on hand. I'll get my e6400 tommorow and I'll have some temps to post during the week.

Excellent! I might try one too!

I have a *feeling* this Tuniq debacle is going to continue for some time. I've read that the only place you can find TT-120s right now are in Hong Kong (mainland China) and Taiwan.

I e-mailed sunbeam a few weeks ago about the Tuniq. Their replied was that no Tuniq until the middle of September for U.S. I don't exactly know why, but various sources said that the machine that was producing the tuniq was going thru malfunctions. I'd love to wait for the Tuniq but I needed a HSF before mid august, so I went with Infinity which looks promising.

Yeah the Scythe Infinity is looking to be where it's at.

I should have been more specific with "quiet" since it's pretty subjective. The fan I intend to use is like 75 cfm/30 dB 120mm which to me is -quiet- considering my current fan is an 80mm Torando on an MCX-478V--****** LOUD until I got a fan controller. Having a P180B helps, too.

Quit reading and check sites out. The 120`s are available several places in the US.
Yes the Tuniq won`t be available til sept sometime.
I hope you weren`t confusing the Tuniq with the tr120.
thermaltake makes a liquid cooling 120. But no 120 heatsink.

Um... can you rephrase that? I have no idea what you're trying to say...
