Hello all, I am setting up my H60 rad with a push pull using 2 Scythe GT AP-15's and was wondering if running both off separate motherboard headers is a good idea? Can my MB handle the voltage, or should I switch them to a molex? My mobo is an MSI P67a-g43 with only the two GT and h60 pump hooked up to the headers.

PSA- The Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15 are now in stock at frozencpu and Amazon (prime eligible!) So get em while the getting is good!

The GTs consume less than 1 watt each, probably lower than any other fan. Should be fine on the MB header.

They will work fine either way.

I use 2 Gentle Typhoons on my H80. They draw less power at 12v than the stock Corsair fans do at 5v. At 12v they are also about as loud as the Corsairs at 5v. Pretty ridiculous how inefficient other fans are by comparison.

Indeed, they are very quiet compared to the stock corsair fans. I was thinking of getting a Scythe fan controller to make my H60 push-pull it even quieter since I am using a Corsair Carbide 500r case. Seems cheaper than buying a 550d.

I have an AP-15 as the exhaust in my TJ08-e. I just let ASUS Fan XPert control the fan voltage in Windows. The software will bring case fans down to 60% at the low point (which is around 7V). Most of the time it's throttled down to ~1260rpm and is exceptionally quiet.

I'd probably be fine with the AP-14 and have a smoother noise profile at the lower stock speed, but I do like to have the overhead to have it scale back up to the full 1850rpm when I need it.

I also just put 2x AP-15 into my NAS case and it moves way more air at just slightly more noise than its stock fans. I am not sure whether I'll undervolt in my NAS yet or not.
