SCTV reruns on NickAtNight

I recently noticed that Nick at Hight is running SCTV in their lineup. I remember seeing it when I was young, so I'm occasionally intrigued enough to watch. Tonight's episode featured a TOTAL NOOB John "couger" Melloncamp as part of the show.

The band performed "Jack and Diane" live, and it sounded friggen great. But they looked like they were so...green. It got me to thinking...when was the last time you saw a band on TV that actually looked "un prepped". I mean, these guys looked like the could have been perfoming in my local bar.
