80 pin is SCA, it's meant for servers with special cases and drive cages. Hot swapping and such. You need an 80->68 pin adapter to use an 80pin drive. Get a 68 pin drive.

For adapters, get an Adaptec or Tekram.. or whatever else is name-brand. I mean, really, there isn't a "cheap" SCSI card that I've seen sold in quantity. Just find a good deal and come back to make sure nobody thinks it sucks (with reason and support).

By the way, you'll get tons and tons on info if you do a search. Every SCSI question has been asked many times over. :)

Tekram (based on LSI parts) or Adaptec (based on Adaptec parts) would be my recommendations. The 68 pin interface is what you want. The 80 pin is intended for hotswap and requires a backplane or an adapter to attach to a cable. Make sure the cable you get has an LVD or dual mode terminator.
