My compaq 450 can not recognize SCSI Cd writer after i fomratted my HDD and installed win98se.
What can be the reason ? can i fix it ?

you have to modify your startup floppy so that the correct scsi dos drivers are loaded.
I assume the scsi bios allows booting from a scsi optical drive?
the simplest work around that's non-technical is to install win98 via an ide optical drive.
