SCSI times out after certain services started????

I get this after going into advanced display properties. Any ideas? The CDROM seeks and the icon flashes like 1-2secs and all is normal.

You know my adaptec 2940 controller does the same thing. It did it under w2k and now under XP. I get these in my eventlog all the time but you know something? I've never had a spot of trouble.
