SCSI timeout? ack!

Colt45

Lifer
win2k will pause for a few seconds when im attempting to do something (does it every 5-45mins approx)
I look in system events and it says my SCSI host (card) is timing out. it also says there is an error on the disc during moving the page file.

i have a dual PII with 96mb ram and a 2gb SCSI drive(OS & programs) and 500mb IDE drive(boot & Win98)

what causes these timeouts? not enough ram?
SCSI drive is 50pin so its 20mb/s.

I just installed Win2K the other day, so could it be a corrupt install?

thanks🙂

EDIT: forgot to say that the SCSI controller is onboard adaptec AIC-7880

sh!t! i just got the drive a few days ago..

no errors showed up when i scan disked it tho, and no bad sectors.. so hopefully its fine.

it usually screws up when netzero is hogging all my resources so i guess some ram and a router
(so i can share my parents cable conn.) would fix that..
