On boot up I get an

ALERT!! Insufficient termination on the wide (68 pin) connector of you're Adaptec controller. Press any key to continue.

So i press a key and everything seems to work fine. What gives? My disk drive is the only device on the chain with a 2 device cable. Is that why? do I need to set something on my controller to get rid of this, or on my hard drive? Or do i just need to get a terminator? Man, IDE was so much easier.

You need a terminator if your HD is the only SCSI drive/peripheral on your computer. You will need to make sure a jumper is covering the correct connector on the back of your HD.

Your drive should have built in termination. Just jumper it properly. If it is an LVD drive on an SE connector, it doesn't need to be terminated.
