SCSI setup and Clean install???

I will be receiving WIN XP Pro upgrade today and want to do a clean install off ME or 98, etc..

I know i should delete all partitions with fdisk, then reformat my harddrive. I should type format c:???? I want to get rid of ALL info on my hard drive.. How should I reformat???

Also, I have an Adaptec 2940U2W and Quantum 10K, plextor 32X cd-rom..If i just set all these to boot mode that should work without the floppy boot disk right??

Just boot off of your XP CD and you will be given options to repartition, format, or both during the install setup. At one point it will ask you to insert your 98 or Me CD as proof that you qualify to install the 'upgrade' version.

I just installed XP Pro and have a SCSI system. I think you'd be smart to create the startup disks before you install. My SCSI Plextor drive would not install XP from the CD. After I started setup with the disks, everything was cool.

just my experience.

Many if not most SCSI adapters in their setup utility have an option to enable CDROM booting. It is ususally disabled by default.
