SCSI Question

A friend gave me an old 4x SCSI burner, another friend donated a WD SCSI card. This is my first SCSI experience so bear with me please. The drive makes this "buzzing" noise constantly, It's not reading anything, the drive is empty...Is this normal?

Have you checked the fan? It's most likely absolutely nothing to do with SCSI, just the drive.

I used to have a Panasonic CW-7502 that was noisy. Turns out it was just the fan. Oil or replace it, and it should be fine.

Yep, sounds like a fan.
