SCSI Question related to 6400 Server

I have one of the Gateway 6400 servers with Controller Integrated Dual Channel Ultra160 SCSI.

I want to use my Microtek E6 scanner, which is SCSI-2. What would be the most efficient way to do this? Is there an add-on adapter that would allow me to connect it to the existing scsi bus or should I buy a separate PCI scsi card?

While there are adapters (internal to external) to allow you to ultized those onboard scsi controller for your need but those adapters most likely will cost about the same if not more than a separate scsi2 card. I would advise separate PCI scsi 2 controller card, especially since they're at all time low at present.
