Title says it...are there physical differences or maybe just a higher quality?

Should work OK. How long is the cable? There are 'better' cable types that may provide better signalling margin as the speed increases. U320 could be challenging on crappy cable.
 
Let's see...cable is about 3 feet long...pale yellow...markings are "HCM 20009 AWM style 20848 31 AWG 30V 105C UW-1 -LL50890 CSA AWM I A/B 300V FT1 - 02/99 (8570)"
has active terminator...any help?
