is this a good deal?

Not really. That drive is SLOW compared to a current ATA66/100 drive. You can find 15 Gig ATA100 drives for that price.

There is more to SCSI then just spin speed. Yes, $40 for both is a good deal. The card alone is worth that.

thanks Russ, I want to run a scsi CD-Rom off of it too, i hate how IDE lags my system.

seems good, plus with that card you can pick up some of the faster mb/s 68pin drives in the future.

Yes, there is more to it than spin speed but the transfer rate on the drive is much slower than a current IDE drive. If TheShiz wants to take advantage of the SCSI world, that drive and controller isn't the way.

if the scsi card is worth the cost itself, you should sell the slower hard drive and save up for another one :)
