Does anyone know where to get new or refurbed Ultra Wide SCSI harddrives (to connect to my 'oldschool' 2940UW). All I can find are LVD drives. I'd like some larger size drives(9+gig) that aren't full size drives. I already got one of those donated to me by a friend, and don't like the loss of 2 cdrom-drive bays.

thanks folks.

Are they? I've been told they are not.
I know the 2940U2W is compatible with LVD, but is the original 2940UW?

So will a harddrive that is Ultra 2 work on a regular Ultra card?(in Ultra mode, I don't expect it to work in Ultra 2)?

Yes. Just be sure that you have a separate terminator at the end of your cable, because LVD drives cannot terminate.

Edit: with your setup, the drive will fall back to ultra wide speed (40mb/s) instead of the original u2w speed (80mb/s).
