I just build a AMD1.33 512 mb with 2940u2w and
I have Primary slave CDRW
I have Secondary Master DVDROM
SCSI terminated on controler with external terminator
I connected my SCSI hard disk .Intially system didn't identify SCSI harddisk without IDE harddisk at Primary Master.I loaded OS in SCSI sometimes OS is booting from the SCSI and sometimes not saying "Need to restart press ctrl+alt+del"

If I am connecting DVD+CDRW to the secondary IDE bus, Nero is giving maeesage saying both drives are on same IDE . performance will be reduced for cd to cd copying.
is there any advice folks?

Is ATA100 disks are comaprable with U2W SCSI disks??

The controller terminates the controller end of the buss. If the jumpers are set right the hard drive terminates the other end.

controller should have an 'auto-terminate' feature which should term/unterm as necessary.

have latest aspi (4.60, 1021)

what hdd? LVD? LVD cable? LVD terminator? at the very end of the cable?

Latest bios & drivers?

i have both ata100 drives (75gxp's) & u2w scsi disks.

i remember a similar prob, many moons ago. I think I had to re-format the C drive to get the OS to boot from the scsi.

If i recall corectly, -> reformat C, leave pri-master installed -> install OS to SCSI = no probs.
