SCSI emulation with newer kernels?

I want to get IDE CD-RW working under linux but I can't find the place where to put "SCSI emulation" support into kernel 🙁 I remember seeing that on 2.2.x kernels, but now I checked twice and still didn't discover it with 2.2.10 kernel using menuconfig 🙁 Any tips where to look? Thanks.
