SCSI Drives running really HOT

I habe 3x9.1 gig SCSI drives in my system. They run really hot, sould I be worries about case over heating? I have a intake fan and a big fan on the power supply. Is there any way I could cool the, down maybe?

Any ideas will help

i think there are hard drive coolers on the market. you might try searching google with keywords "hard drive coolers" and see what you come up with. you could probably fashion some heatsinks for the drives yourself that would help.

mrlayance, you probably need a drive cooler kit for each of those SCSI drives. The problem with drive heat isn't so much that your case might get too hot, it's that the drive's life might be shortened due to running hot.

I've used Cooler Master DCD 4002 drive cooler before. The 5.25" kit acts like a big heatsink for a 3.5" hard drive and includes its own fan on the front. You can get them for $25 at Hyper Microsystems.

SCSI drives that run at 10,000 RPM usually require cooling. If you have three drives running together, or 15,000 RPM drives, active cooling is a must.

Hard drive coolers are the best option, but a fan or two blowing cool air over the drive bays could also work.
