Can you check these boards diagrams and lemme know what you think of the functioning of PCI/PCI-X slots. On all these boards, they have two PCI/PCI-X slots sharing the same bus (if I am right) on all xeon boards and all slots run on ESB2 chipset alone. The AMD board has one PCI slot on one of the nVidia chipset and the AMD8132 is controlling the remaining PCI-X slots via its dual channels and has a seperate channel for SCSI, but the memory is DDR400 while xeon boards run on DDR2 667/533 memory.

Any views on these boards??? which board do you guys think is best suited for reliable and fast PCI/PCI-X transfers without any delays??? I may be using atmost one LAN port that too for communicating with another system (not via ethernet/internet).

Here are my ATTO results...

Dell PWS 650

Dell PWS 670

They both are running on 15k U320 SCSI drives. The only difference is, 670 is using on-board Adaptec Controller with Fujitsu drive while 650 is using Adaptec PCI-X controller card with Seagate drive.
