SCSI CDRom Drive Question

I currently have 2 cd roms in my computer.
I have a 6x DVD / 12x CDROM Scsi drive
and a 12/32/8A Plextor CDRW drive.

A) Is it wise/recommended to run cds on a cdrw drive (I heard a while back to only use it for burning, as to not wear it out.
B) Is it pointless having a scsi cdrom drive of this speed, with a scsi card in my system, if this is the only scsi peripheral on my system?
I am debating if I should just take out and sell that drive. Not sure if its worth having it (being scsi) with it being the only scsi in my system.

I bet the performance/speed on the plextor is faster overall than the scsi.

Opinions?

nowaday cdrw is so cheap I wouldn't worry much about wear and tear on cdrw. I used to have a Pioneer 6x scsi DVDROM, Plextor UltraPlex40x, and Plextor scsi 12x10x32S and my Plextor burner give in after one 1 1/2 years. So I just took out all my scsi drives and the cards since it's not worth it anymore. And it takes forever to boot when the scsi is in there too. Now I just have a single Lite-On 48x12x48 drive.

My scsi drive tend to be faster than the ide counterparts.. but installing windows and stuff are a bitch..

I would leave it unless you can get decent $$$ for it... i myself are scsi to the max.. scsi dvd/hdd/recorder/scanners/etc.. frees my ide port..
