the latter is scsi3, meaning its the wide, 68pin.

my plex wide is about $120 retail. conversly, the 40x max is about 70..-80

The other one is 50 pin?

That would work sweet on the TEKRAM adapter with 1 68pin chan and 1 50 pin chan. 40MB/Sec is more bandwith than a burner needs.

You end up with the same CD at almost the same time. Big whoop. SCSI 3 is overkill for todays burner.

u might as well say that in defense of ide burners. but oh well!

The SNB is a OEM drive(bare drive) and SZ is retail kit.

uhh, SCSI-3 is Ultra SCSI. SCSI-X implies nothing about bus width.

Yamaha Spec Page for 2100SZ They probably include a 50-pin cable for a good reason...
