Scsi Bios updating? ::::

Depends on the brand/model. Most current Adaptecs can be flashed. Older ones can't. Don't know about Tekram.
 
Is it a good idea to flash an Adaptec bios onto an Adaptec OEM board? I'm having issues with my 2940U2W when burning CD'S, and I've already upgraded the ASPI layer and the drivers for the card itself. Is it likely that a bios upgrade will fix anything? I'm getting eerors in the event viewer(win 2000) about the SCSI bus not responding within a certain period. I'm getting an "unspecified error" sometimes in Nero when burning a CD. Everything works great otherwise. My disk sub-system is all SCSI:
(2) 18gb U2 SCSI drives
(1)9gb U2 SCSI drive
Sony SCSI CRRW
Plextor SCSI cd-rom
