I'm in the market for a new SCSI host adapter . . .

What would be the best card for my use? I will be connection a 68-pin Ultra160 Quantum Atlas 10K and a 50-pin Pioneer DVD drive.

Hyper Micro has the Adaptec 19160 for $149; is this a single-channel card?

They've also got the Tekram DC390U3W retail box for $185 . . .

Thanks for your advice!

Well, for one the Adaptec is dual channel. But so is the tekram.

The adaptec is OEM, no cables.

the Tekram is retail, and includes cables that would cost you $50 to buy.

The adaptec has really immature win2k drivers, that actually are slower than their win9x counterparts

The tekram has good functioning drivers.

The tekram is the better deal because of the cables, and the drivers. Tekram also has a good warranty, and are reliable cards. I use the Tekram DC390U2W in 6 machines I have built. 5 of which are servers running Linux. They have been 100% reliable, and have never ever given any trouble.
