scsci drives lock up win 2000 system

I have a pentium 3 650 runing windows 2000 professional with SP2... i just installed the OS, and Windows keeps trying to access the CD drives (auto insert feature) .. and this causes the system to lock up all the time as its trying to read from the drive. I tried using tweakui to disable this feature, but with no luck..

can someone help?

oh yeah, I'm using an Adaptec aha-2940 SCSI card

Sounds like a termination issue to me, or power problem.
